Carrington, Sarr and George all played big roles last season, as the three finished first, second and fifth, respectively, in minutes per game among rookies (30.0, 27.1 and 26.5).
Each of the three possesses raw talent and has a lot more potential to unlock, which is why the trio will get some run at Summer League, and already having a season of valuable minutes under their belts is also a key reason why the Wizards could be a serious contender for a possible Summer League title.
However, Carrington, Sarr and George may not play in all the Summer League games if the team chooses to get a larger look at other players like rookies Tre Johnson, Riley and Watkins, as well as second-year guard AJ Johnson.
The fact that the Wizards could at some point during the upcoming regular season have a lineup consisting of Carrington, Sarr, George, Tre Johnson and Riley shows just how young the team's core is.
Some may say that a Summer League championship doesn't matter, but for a franchise trying to build from the ground up with a plethora of young talent, a Summer League championship would be a taste of winning that these young players need to help gain more chemistry, belief and momentum heading into next season.
The Wizards' Las Vegas Summer League tips off on July 11, where they face the Phoenix Suns. They will then play the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz, with a fifth game to be determined.
