Multiple teams are waiting to steal former MVP from his organization

The future of Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a hot topic all summer. The former MVP has been eliminated from the first round of the NBA playoffs for the past three consecutive seasons. His patience with the Milwaukee Bucks franchise is likely wearing thin.

That's why the Bucks made the bold, and potentially catastrophic, decision to waive and stretch Damian Lillard's contract earlier this month. The front office then used that newly created cap space to acquire Myles Turner in free agency.

However, it would appear that Milwaukee's dice roll has failed to generate the intended response. During a recent appearance on a livestream with popular YouTuber "Ishow Speed," Giannis remained noncommittal regarding his future with the Bucks.

“Probably,” Giannis said. “We’ll see. I love Milwaukee.”

Giannis' noncommittal reply quickly went viral on social media. Since entering the NBA and throughout his ascension to being a top-five player in the world, Giannis has remained steadfast in his desire to play for the Bucks. Saying "we'll see" is a significant change in stance, which wasn't lost on basketball fans worldwide.

During a July 10 episode of ESPN's "Get Up," NBA insider Brian Windhorst noted that Giannis' comments have triggered "at least five or six teams," getting them to sit up and take notice.

“The thing about it is, is he didn't give a definitive answer,” Windhorst said (h/t Bleacher Report).“And I'm certainly not going to analyze something he said seaside in Greece, but what I will say is the ‘we'll see,' that is essentially what there's about five or six NBA teams banking on, the ‘we'll see.'...And I know it sounds trivial, but for years Giannis was completely locked in. Him saying ‘we'll see' backs up what Shams has been saying this entire summer, which is that he might be more open-minded than he was in the past."

Giannis helped bring a championship to Milwaukee. He's remained patient despite the franchise's recent struggles. If he's grown tired of his situation, he's earned the right to look elsewhere.

Unfortunately for him, his comments have certainly reopened Pandora's box. So, sooner or later, he will need to provide a definitive answer on his future. Otherwise, speculation will run rampant, and that won't help anybody.
