As speculation continues to swirl around LeBron James’ future with the Los Angeles Lakers, he is passing on the chance to shut some of it down.
James was in attendance for Saturday’s Summer League game between the Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans in Las Vegas. ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin approached James and asked if James wanted to discuss his future with the franchise.
“I ain’t got nothing to talk about,” James replied.

James has opted into his contract for next season, and perhaps he thinks that should be sufficient to quiet talk about his future. However, the fact that agent Rich Paul has been speaking about James’ future is enough in itself to keep speculation going.
Few seem to believe that James will actually be traded. However, there has been talk of some issues between James and the Lakers that might not go away anytime soon. There are also questions about whether James believes the Lakers have put together a championship-caliber roster.
James will be entering his eighth season with the Lakers provided he sticks around. He appears content to keep people guessing until training camp.
