For the second week in a row, Kyle Busch spun at a road course and somehow, some way managed a top-10 finish.
Busch's 10th-place effort at Sonoma on Sunday followed a fifth-place run in Chicago on July 6, giving the future Hall of Famer consecutive top-10 finishes for the first time since March.

Busch's comeback proves that the two-time champ still has some gas in the tank in his 21st Cup Series season, but it also puts him back within striking distance of a Cup Series playoff berth with six races remaining in the regular season.
Busch is only 37 points behind 16th-place Bubba Wallace after Sonoma, and with several solid tracks on the calendar over the next six weeks, a playoff spot is well within the realm of possibility.
Dover has been good to Busch in recent years, as he's scored two consecutive poles at the 'Monster Mile' and has two top-10 finishes in three Next-Gen races at the one-mile track.
Busch is also a two-time Brickyard 400 champion and has six wins at Richmond. Those two tracks are also excellent opportunities for Busch to continue to chip away at his points deficit to Wallace.
The regular season finale may be Busch's best opportunity to lock himself into the playoffs with a win, but if there is only one — or zero — new winners from the below the playoff cut line, pointing his way in with solid finishes over the next six weeks is certainly in play for the veteran driver.
