Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future has been a consistent topic of discussion to begin the 2025 offseason. The former MVP was reportedly weighing his options after the Milwaukee Bucks suffered a third consecutive first-round exit from the playoffs.
Yet, after waiving Damian Lillard to create cap space for Myles Turner, and then adding Cole Anthony via the buyout market, the Bucks project to be a much better team next season. And for that reason, it would appear team president Peter Feigin is confident Antetokounmpo will be locked in with Milwaukee once preseason preparations begin.
"We kind of laugh internally," Feigin said during a recent broadcast during a Bucks Summer League game. "It's where we've been for 10 years. Giannis loves Milwaukee. Milwaukee loves Giannis. We're in a good place. We feel great about it. It's business as usual. I think we get kind of a fun little joy in everybody else thinking they know what's going on and kind of what the clickbait is ... Giannis is in a good place. He's enjoying the summer. We're looking forward to next season."

Antetokounmpo has made no secret about his desire to contend for championships. So, while he may disagree with how Milwaukee cut ties with Lillard, he must respect the moves and risks the front office is taking to give him the roster he needs to contend.
Anthony will provide significant scoring without the need for constant touches. Turner adds defensive grit, floor spacing and additional rebounding. On paper, the Bucks' roster looks far more balanced heading into the 2025-26 season.
Antetokounmpo has remained loyal to the Bucks in recent years. Therefore, it's logical to expect him to give the new iteration of Milwaukee's roster a chance to shine. However, his patience appears to be wearing thin.
Therefore, if the Bucks falter early in the playoffs for a fourth straight year, there will likely be nothing Feigin or anyone else can do to convince him to stick around for much longer.
