Caitlin Clark let a referee hear it during Tuesday’s game.
The Indiana Fever superstar got heated with referee Michael Price as her team faced off against the Connecticut Sun at TD Garden in Boston. During the third quarter of the contest, play was briefly paused for a coach’s challenge initiated by the Sun (in which they ultimately got an out-of-bounds call overturned and received another possession).
In the middle of the replay review, Clark was shown on the ESPN broadcast yelling at Price. She called him “rude” and told him to “grow up.” Clark then motioned for Price to “come here” and even seemingly threatened to call the league on him by saying, “I will be calling” while making a phone gesture with her hand.

Prior to that sequence, Clark and Price were having a discussion that resulted in Clark having to be held back from Price after Price had walked away. In the end though, Clark did not receive a technical foul for the entire episode with Price.
The Fever went on to win the game, 85-77. But it was a frustrating game overall for Clark, who shot just 4-for-14 from the field and 1-for-7 from three (though she still finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists).
Tuesday’s game marked the first meeting between the Fever and the Sun since last month’s fireworks-filled affair involving the two teams. There was not a lot of smoke between the players this time around, but there was certainly smoke from Clark for the veteran referee.
