Each week, Yardbarker monitors the 2026 NFL Draft, scheduled April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
From a South Carolina quarterback to a Texas Tech edge-rusher, here are five players we're tracking.
South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers
Sellers is considered a raw prospect, but ESPN's Jordan Reid lists him as one of four serious contenders to go No. 1 in the draft. The others are LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier (6-foot-2, 200 pounds), Clemson QB Cade Klubnik (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) and Penn State QB Drew Allar (6-foot-5, 238 pounds).
"NFL teams constantly fall in love with traits at the top of the draft, and Sellers has some of the best traits in the class," wrote Reid.
Sellers' combination of size and speed stands out. The 6-foot-3, 242-pound QB clocked a top speed of 20.8 MPH on a 75-yard touchdown run in a 36-33 Week 3 loss against LSU last season (via Reel Analytics).

Sellers, 20, must develop a quicker release to prove he's worthy of a first-round pick. He averaged 3.31 seconds to throw in 12 games last season, via Pro Football Focus, the fourth-slowest mark in the FBS (minimum 131 dropbacks).
Baylor QB Sawyer Robertson
Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward — pick No. 1 of the 2025 draft – wasn't expected to go that high before the 2024 season. Could Robertson climb boards like the former Miami star?
"Sawyer Robertson has my attention," The Ringer's Todd McShay said Monday on his podcast. "He's highly accurate throwing the football. The ball's on a string. Just puts it where it needs to go. Throws to spots between zones, all that stuff."
Robertson (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) completed 62.2 percent of his passes for 3,071 yards and 28 TD passes in 12 games last season. Keep in mind, he didn't play with elite talent. No Baylor player was selected in the 2025 draft.
Robertson may have to carry the team again this upcoming season. As of Thursday, ESPN's Football Power Index gives Baylor the fifth-best chance (10.3 percent) to win the Big 12. The QB's precision could help him do that.
Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor
At SEC media days Wednesday, Proctor (6-foot-7, 366 pounds) told the Tuscaloosa News' Colin Gay he owns 170 bottles of cologne to change the narrative the big guy "stinks."
His play in 2024 certainly looked clean. Proctor allowed just three sacks in 11 games last season and posted a solid 70.8 PFF grade. The O-lineman also earned a second-team All-SEC nod.
"Consistency is his most significant issue, as he still exhibited too much lunging and sloppy technique, both in the run game and pass protection," wrote The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner in a story published July 3. "If he plays his best ball this year, Proctor has a great shot at emerging as OT1 and a top-five pick."
In Tankathon's latest mock draft, the New York Giants take Proctor, 20, with pick No. 4.
Ohio State TE Max Klare
CBS Sports analyst Ran Carthon compared Klare to a future Pro Football Hall of Famer on a Wednesday episode of the "With the First Pick" podcast.
"Just his movement reminded me a lot of [Kansas City Chiefs TE] Travis Kelce," the former Titans general manager said. "Kelce's game isn't quick, explosive movements. It's understanding how to attack leverages...and do it all without wasted movement. This is how Max moved."
Klare transferred from Purdue to Ohio State after catching 51 passes for 685 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games last season.
Ohio State wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate should draw plenty of double-teams this upcoming season. That should give Klare (6-foot-4, 240 pounds) even more opportunities in the passing game.
Texas Tech EDGE David Bailey
Bailey — who turns 22 on Aug. 28 — never became a full-time starter in three seasons at Stanford but made the most of his limited playing time. He logged a career-high seven sacks in 12 games last season.
Tankathon's mock has the Green Bay Packers taking Bailey with pick No. 55 in the second round. With an expanded role at Texas Tech, his stock should continue to soar.
The Athletic's Dane Brugler ranked the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder his No. 5 EDGE in his preseason rankings.
"With his bend, power and explosiveness off the edge, Bailey has the pass-rush juice to have a Nik Bonitto-like impact in the NFL," he wrote Wednesday. "He is one of the top senior defensive prospects I have studied this summer."
