NASCAR has reportedly signed a deal to come back to Southern California in 2026.
Per Kelly Crandall of RACER.com, NASCAR has reached an agreement with the city of San Diego to host a street race in 2026, with an announcement of the event planned for as soon as next week.

Coronado, a resort city in San Diego County, has been rumored as an exact location for the race recently, though no specific location or race date is known, per RACER.
While NASCAR has retained a presence in the state of California since 1989 with Sonoma Raceway, it will not hold a race in the Southern California market in 2025. Following the final race at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California in February 2023, NASCAR no longer had a points race in the region, though the season-opening exhibition race known as the Clash was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from 2022-24.
According to Crandall, NASCAR is still trying to get both the Chicago Street Race — which was NASCAR's first street race in 2023 — and Mexico City back on the calendar in 2026. If Chicago does end up back on the schedule for a fourth year, that could put two street races on the schedule for the first time in NASCAR history.
