Who's hot, who's not after IndyCar's trip to Toronto

IndyCar's lone international race provided plenty of storylines on Sunday. With four races left in the 2025 season, here's who's trending up and down after Toronto.

Trending up: Pato O'Ward

O'Ward has won two of the last three races and chopped Alex Palou's championship lead to 99 points. It's a tall order for o'Ward to complete a miraculous comeback and win the championship, but snagging his first two wins of the season has certainly been a nice sight to see for his legion of fans.

Trending down: Alexander Rossi

Rossi has two finishes of 25th or worse over the last three races after a bizarre accident in Toronto knocked him out of the event. The 2016 Indy 500 winner could be in for the worst year of his career when the season comes to a close on Aug. 31.

Trending up: Rinus VeeKay

VeeKay finished runner-up in Toronto on Sunday, earning his best IndyCar finish since 2021. VeeKay has dragged Dale Coyne Racing through a surprisingly solid 2025 campaign, and he sits 11th in the standings, just seven points out of the top 10 with four races to go.

Trending down: Santino Ferrucci

Ferrucci had a solid weekend in Iowa on July 12 and 13, but didn't even get the opportunity to start Sunday's race in Toronto after a warm-up crash. He was credited with a last-place (27th) finish, and is undoubtedly looking to get back on track at Laguna Seca.

Trending up: Marcus Armstrong

Armstrong has three top-14 finishes in a row, including a third-place effort in the second race of the Iowa doubleheader on July 13. Armstrong is seventh in the standings with four races remaining, and is less than 40 points back of a potential top-five season.

Trending down: Nolan Siegel

Siegel didn't get to compete in the second race of the Iowa doubleheader due to injury, and Sunday's race in Toronto gives him and the No. 6 team three consecutive results of 18th or worse. He's 21st in the standings with four races left, but a top-20 season is not out of the question.
