Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been cited for speeding on more than one occasion since he was drafted in April, and general manager Andrew Berry is hopeful that it will not happen again.
Sanders was pulled over for speeding in the Cleveland area on two different occasions in June. He missed a court appearance after receiving the first citation and was allegedly stopped for driving more than 100 mph the day after the scheduled hearing.
Berry spoke with the media at training camp on Thursday, and he was asked about Sanders' lead foot. He called it "not smart."
"Not smart, just not smart," Berry said. "It's something that we've addressed with him. He understands the implications. He understands the consequences. I think the thing is that it's not just about yourself. It's not just about having a joy ride. It's not just about driving a car really fast. It's about the fact that you can endanger other people. It's about the fact that if a deer or someone cuts out in front of you, your reaction time ... it's just dangerous. It's not something that we want our guys to be doing."

Sanders has supposedly handled the fines associated with the speeding tickets. If the Browns handed down any internal discipline, they have chosen not to disclose any details about it.
Sanders is battling with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel for the Browns' starting quarterback job. While Berry and Cleveland's brass probably isn't thrilled about the speeding tickets, it does not sound like Sanders has fallen out of favor with anyone in the organization.
