Tottenham Hotspur continued their pre-season preparations with an important 1-0 win over Arsenal in the North London derby in Hong Kong. Spurs played a very good game with many promising signs under Thomas Frank and here are five talking points that we inferred from the way the game played out.

Meanwhile, while all these pre-season games offer is a window into the future and the focus during a transfer window still very much remains on potential signings. Thomas Frank gets the chance to understand his squad better and better and try and reinforce to fill the gaps in the roster.

Now, as per Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Tottenham Hotspur want to sign out-of-favour PSG attacker Randal Kolo Muani. The ex-Eintracht Frankfurt star finds himself out of the project at Parc des Princes under Luis Enrique and could be available for a permanent move this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur want Randal Kolo Muani

Kolo Muani spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, where he gave a very good account of himself. The Frenchman also stayed with the Old Lady for the Club World Cup but is now back at PSG trying to sort out his future. Aouna has mentioned that the two clubs don’t have an agreement on a transfer yet.

As per the journalist, the negotiations between PSG and Juve have now stalled for weeks and as things stand, the two clubs are far from an agreement. Kolo Muani will know that he can’t wait all summer to sort out his future as he needs time to adapt to his new team and get going for the new season.

The 26-year-old striker, labelled “radiant” by French manager Didier Deschamps, also has interest from the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle United. With talks underway from Tottenham’s perspective, it looks like Thomas Frank might want a new number nine to complement Dominic Solanke at the N17.

Competition for Dominic Solanke

As good as the Englishman is, when he is good, injuries aren’t allowing him to enjoy the kind of consistency that one would expect from him. On the other hand, Richarlison still continues to divide opinion and Frank could benefit from having someone like Randal Kolo Muani in the squad.

It remains to be seen what comes off these talks between Tottenham and PSG for the 26-year-old World Cup 2022 runner-up. The coming days would key in deciding how the negotiations play out and let’s wait and see if Randal Kolo Muani wears a Lilywhite jersey in the 2025/26 season.
