Kyle Busch's weekend at Iowa Speedway has gotten off to the worst start possible.
During practice for Sunday's Iowa Corn 350, Busch got loose on the entry to turn 1. Busch over-corrected before suffering a head-on impact with the outside wall in turn 1.
There's big trouble in practice for @KyleBusch.

Busch walked away from the crash under his own power. It appears the No. 8 team will have to utilize a back-up car for Sunday's race. Busch will likely not make a qualifying attempt, but the two-time Cup Series champion will have to start at the rear of the field regardless of whether or not he posts a qualifying time.
Busch relayed on the radio before the crash that the right-rear tire on his No. 8 Chevrolet was chattering. He was second-fastest in practice prior to the crash.
Busch entered the weekend at Iowa 18th on the playoff grid, 81 points below the playoff cut line. It will likely take a win over the final four races of the regular season for Busch to make the Cup Series playoffs for the first time since 2023. Busch is currently in the midst of a 79-race winless streak that dates back to June 2023 at Gateway.
Busch finished 35th in the inaugural Cup Series race at Iowa Speedway in 2024 but won an Xfinity Series race at the facility in 2010.
