The New England Patriots unveiled a bronze statue of Tom Brady outside of their stadium on Friday night, and the legendary quarterback made sure the New York Jets felt like they were part of the festivities.
Sort of.
Brady was in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Friday night prior to the Patriots' preseason game against the Washington Commanders. He delivered a speech to thousands of fans after the team unveiled a 12-foot statue that depicts Brady raising his fist in the air.

During his speech, Brady took a vicious shot at the Jets. He said the statue will not only serve as a reminder for Patriots fans of the six Super Bowls the team won, but also give Jets fans something to direct their frustrations at when their team is losing in New England.
"But in the end the statue isn't just for Pats fans. It'll also give Jets fans something to throw their beers at as they leave the stadium every year, probably in the second quarter, or maybe the third," Brady quipped.

The Patriots have not been very good since Brady left to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2019 season. They have still handled business against the Jets, however. New England has lost to its AFC East rival at home just one time in five years since Brady's departure.
Fans of both the Jets and New York Giants generally do not like Brady, and for obvious reasons. The three-time NFL MVP has had a lot of fun with that over the years.
