The Philadelphia Eagles still have a loaded roster even after losing some top-end talent in free agency, but there's still a major question mark hanging over the second starting cornerback spot.
With just three weeks until the season-opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4, head coach Nick Sirianni still isn't close to naming a starter opposite Quinyon Mitchell.
Ahead of Philadelphia's joint practice with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, a reporter asked Sirianni if he was worried that no one had separated himself in the CB2 race. His response didn't inspire much confidence in the options available.
"Yeah, again, feel good about the depth in the room and feel good about the pieces that we have that are competing," Sirianni said. "I know you guys want that answer and are looking for it now. We don't have to come up with that answer for a while now. We still got some time to come up with that. Everything is a competition. That doesn't mean we don't try to put the pieces where we think they should go as it's playing out. We're not in as big of a rush of doing that as you guys are."

Sirianni seems to believe there's plenty of time for someone to emerge in the cornerback room, but three weeks go by quickly in training camp. Not to mention, the Eagles need to cut down their roster to 53 players by Aug. 26. That's less than two weeks for coaches to decide which cornerbacks will crack the final roster.
Third-year pro Kelee Ringo and veteran Adoree' Jackson are the top two players in the pecking order right now, but neither player has been impressive in training camp. Both cornerbacks struggled in Philadelphia's first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and joint practices haven't gone much better.
The Eagles recently traded for CB Jakorian Bennett to add some competition to the room, but he's still getting up to speed with the defense. The 24-year-old will be watched closely in the final two preseason games.
The starting cornerback battle will likely bleed into the regular season. If no one separates from the rest of the pack in the next few weeks, opposing offenses will target the CB2 spot early and often.
