Jadon Sancho has spent the past 18 months on the fringes of Manchester United's plans. He was originally dropped following a public disagreement with former manager Erik Ten Hag. Since then, he's had loan spells with both Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea. Sancho has failed to secure a full-time move to either team.
Unfortunately for the English winger, he doesn't appear to be in Ruben Amorim's plans for the upcoming season, either. He was part of the group United left behind when it flew out for preseason, and is expected to leave the club before the summer transfer window closes.
However, Sancho's future has now been thrown into further doubt after he turned down the opportunity to join AS Roma for the upcoming season. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Sancho was unable to agree on personal terms with the Serie A club.
Jadon Sancho’s agent also informed AS Roma of their decision not to accept the proposal.

Roma was an ideal exit route for Sancho. Its loan offer was for one year, with the option to buy being set at $29M, as reported by GOAL. And with no future in Manchester, Sancho could have gotten his career back on track in Italy, allowing him to fight for a place within the England setup as a result.
Instead, Sancho is now at risk of remaining at United until January, where he's unlikely to get any playing time, unless he gets lucky in cup competitions. Fortunately, Roma doesn't project to be the only team interested in his services, and United have made no secret of its desire to sell.
The concern now will be whether Sancho's wage demands are a deterrent to any interested party. After all, Roma is not a small club, and its wage structure should have been competitive. Still, a move away from United is in everyone's best interests, especially if Sancho doesn't want to see his career stall any more than it already has.
For now, though, all he and United can do is wait to see if any new offers are made for the winger who was once seen as one of the best young talents in Europe.
