The Dallas Cowboys will open up their 2025 season against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles , and CeeDee Lamb is embracing the unique opportunity.
The Eagles will host the Cowboys in the NFL's season-opening game on Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field. Before kickoff, the home team will be honored for their 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
On Monday, Lamb was asked if he plans to watch the ceremony. The star wide receiver said he wants to use it as motivation.
"Shoutout to them for that because I’ve still got brothers over there. It’s not really anything personal, but it’s something that I’m chasing,” Lamb said.

Lamb also told reporters that he feels the Cowboys are being underestimated this season. He said that has also helped fuel him heading into his sixth year.
CeeDee Lamb on if people are underestimating what this year’s Cowboys team can be: “Absolutely. But it’s fine.”

It has been nearly 30 years since the Cowboys won their last Super Bowl, and they have not made a Super Bowl appearance since then, either. The Eagles have won two Super Bowls and been to four since then, so Lamb is right to feel envious.
With Micah Parsons having been traded to the Green Bay Packers last week, there are even more questions surrounding the Cowboys heading into 2025. Lamb and his teammates need to find every way possible to motivate themselves.
