Rangers experienced travel issues prior to game vs. Diamondbacks

The Texas Rangers had a bit of a travel delay prior to the start of their series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night.

The Rangers beat the Athletics, 9-6, on Sunday to complete a three-game series sweep. They were then supposed to fly to Arizona from Sacramento, California, which is where the A's have been playing home games this season. Apparently Bruce Bochy's team experienced a significant delay.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports, the Rangers did not arrive in Phoenix until late Monday morning. They then had to play the Diamondbacks at 8 p.m. EST.

The Rangers entered Monday on a five-game winning streak. They have won nine of their last 11 games to climb back into the American League wild-card race, so fans are hoping the travel issues can be quickly overcome.

Of course, the Boston Red Sox also had a flight mishap earlier in the season, and they have been on a tear in the second half. Perhaps the Rangers will generate some juice from their inconvenience as well.
