Lamar Jackson is hoping to lead the Baltimore Ravens back to the playoffs in 2025, and the star quarterback will be well on his way to doing that if he can keep a remarkable streak alive.
Jackson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL since he took over as Baltimore's starter midway through his rookie season in 2018. He has won the vast majority of his games and is 70-24 as a starter, according to Pro Football Reference. That is an average of just 3.4 losses per season.
And even when Jackson has lost, it has not been by much. As CBS Sports researcher Doug Clawson pointed out on Tuesday, Jackson has not lost by more than seven points in any game over his last 52 starts, including the postseason. That is the longest streak since at least 1950, which is as far back as the relevant statistics go.
CRAZY STREAK … Lamar Jackson has gone 52 straight starts without losing by more than 7 points, including playoffs, the longest QB streak since at least 1950

Arguably the most important thing an NFL quarterback can do is keep his team in games. To do that, you have to manage the clock and protect the football. You also have to be able to put points on the board when needed to avoid falling into too big of a hole.
Jackson has done that masterfully in recent years, and the aforementioned statistic is proof.
Jackson, who won the NFL MVP award in 2019 and 2023, is coming off his best season as a passer. He threw for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Jackson had just seven interceptions in each of the two seasons before that, which is one of the main reasons even his losses have been competitive.
