Oklahoma State got blown out badly by Oregon on Saturday, which led everyone to ask the same question about Mike Gundy.
The Ducks hammered the Cowboys 69-3 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore., for the worst loss of Gundy’s career. The loss came after Gundy highlighted the disparity in how much each school spends on its football team, which likely motivated Oregon to run up the score. In the end, Gundy looked really bad as his Cowboys got crushed to fall to 1-1.
After a loss like that, everyone was asking when Gundy was going to be fired.
So when does Mike Gundy get fired? Honest question.

Oklahoma State is coming off a 3-9 season, which is the worst season of Gundy’s tenure as head coach, and only his second losing season. A brutal loss like Saturday’s seems to show just how far off from competing at a high level Oklahoma State is.
One could say that given his history of success, Gundy just needs time to get it right. But given the way college football has changed, it’s hard to imagine him turning things around without a big boost when it comes to NIL money. Oklahoma State does not appear to be in a good position with their football program.
