UCLA quarterback Pierce Clarkson, the son of famous quarterback trainer Steve Clarkson, was arrested in Los Angeles on Friday.

Clarkson has been charged with an unspecified felony, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records that were reviewed by ESPN’s Paolo Uggetti. The 21-year-old was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department at noon on Friday with a bail set at $30K. He is due in court on Oct. 3.

UCLA said in a statement that Clarkson has been suspended indefinitely “pending the outcome of the legal process.”

“This situation will be evaluated by the UCLA Office of Student Conduct and any further action taken will be in accordance with that evaluation and University policy,” the school said.

Clarkson entered the season as a backup behind Nico Iamaleava, who transferred to UCLA from Tennessee. The Bruins are 0-2 after losses to Utah and UNLV to begin the year.

Clarkson began his career at Louisville but played very sparingly across two seasons. He then transferred to Ole Miss in January but committed to UCLA several months later in May.

Steve Clarkson is a longtime quarterback trainer who is known for working with many prominent players.
