The San Francisco 49ers' injury woes have carried into the regular season, and the roster is already decimated one week into the 2025 NFL season.
George Kittle exited the 49ers' Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks with a hamstring injury and was ruled out swiftly after reporting to the sidelines. ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that San Francisco officially placed the 31-year-old tight end on injured reserve.

The designation guarantees Kittle will be out for the next four games, which include the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams.
The 49ers are in danger of being without key pieces for multiple weeks. Brandon Aiyuk is already out for the foreseeable future, Jauan Jennings' status for Week 2 is in question, Christian McCaffrey is dealing with a calf issue, and Brock Purdy reportedly suffered concerning injuries.
Ricky Pearsall led San Francisco with 108 yards on four receptions against Seattle and was one of two wide receivers who caught a pass from Purdy on Sunday. The other receiver was Jennings, who totaled 16 yards on two catches.
Health, or lack thereof, has been part of the equation for San Francisco over the course of Kyle Shanahan's tenure, but the injuries are already piling up this early in the season. The 49ers' playoff hopes could be hanging in the balance with the next month painting a clearer picture for how San Francisco's 2025 season will pan out.
