Aaron Rodgers' latest decision has Steelers fans licking their chops

Aaron Rodgers turned back the clock to dominate the New York Jets with 244 passing yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions in his Pittsburgh Steelers debut.

It was a much-needed vintage performance from Rodgers, who overcame poor pass protection and a shockingly weak defensive effort from Mike Tomlin's team.

It seems like the former MVP is taking this step in his career with a killer approach, and not only on the field. According to Ben Axelrod of Awful Announcing, Rodgers might be all about football right now.

Aaron Rodgers skips "Pat McAfee Show"

As Axerold pointed out, the "Pat McAfee Show" aired its first episode of the season on Tuesday, and Rodgers didn't make his usual and often-viral appearances.

"While McAfee’s long-form interviews with the four-time NFL MVP had become one of his program’s signature segments since they first began in 2020, it appears they have now come to an end," wrote Axelrod.

That seemed to be a possibility when Rodgers signed with the Steelers. The New York Jets reportedly weren't big fans of his weekly appearances, and the former player-turned media personality hinted at this decision.

“Will you be joining us on Tuesdays or no? Did they tell you you can’t?” McAfee asked Rodgers in July.

“We’ll see, yeah, we’ll see," Rodgers responded. "You’re going to have to talk to [Steelers communications director] Burt [Lauten] over there.”

This is great news for the Steelers. Rodgers often made the rounds with his hot takes on McAfee's show, including but not limited to his shots at Jimmy Kimmel, some controversial remarks about FEMA and other incendiary takes.

He may not throw four touchdowns every week, but he's still one of the most talented passers the game has ever seen, and having him focused on what matters and what makes him great can only translate to success in what might be his final season in the league.
