Former NFL QB calls out Eagles over tush push

The NFL offseason may have been the one and only chance to ban the tush push play made famous by the Philadelphia Eagles in recent years.

The play has become nearly unstoppable for Philadelphia, but one former NFL quarterback believes that the play should always be flagged.

Kurt Benkert, a former quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers, has constantly voiced his concerns over the Eagles' illegal formations and false starts on the play. That included Sunday, when they converted on the play with what looked like an obvious false start.

It is not the first time Benkert has called out Philadelphia for illegal activity during the play, and this one may be the most obvious one yet.

Benkert was not the only former NFL player to voice frustration over the missed false start, as former linebacker Will Compton took to X, saying that the Eagles should be called for a false start on the play every single time it is run.

With more and more talk across social media, it will be interesting to see if the play gets officiated more strictly in the near future.
