Cal Raleigh was not the only Mariner to make history on Tuesday

The 28-year-old utility player became only the second Mariner to ever achieve a 5-for-5 three homer game, joining Kyle Seager, who achieved the rare display of offense in 2019.

Canzone entered the game with just seven home runs on the year. He now has 10 in 72 games played. Through three MLB seasons, Canzone has 21 career HRs overall.

Prior to Tuesday, Canzone's last home run came on Aug. 5. And in addition to his home runs, he's hitting .304 with 28 RBI and an on-base percentage of .363.

But as much as Seattle fans love the long ball, the history they likely appreciate above all else is the Mariners' team success. Heavily powered by the bats of Raleigh and Canzone, the M's beat the Royals, 12-5, to extend their win streak to 10 games.

At 83-68, the win also allows Seattle to hold onto the top in the American League West. The Mariners are trying to win a division title for the first time since 2001. Once the postseason gets underway, the Mariners will try to etch their names further in history by capturing the franchise's first American League pennant.
