Despite a tumultuous end to her second WNBA season, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese had no trouble selling out her first signature sneaker line.
The "Angel Reese 1" sneakers, available in "Diamond Dust," "Mebounds" and "Receipts Ready" editions, launched Thursday and sold out within a few hours.

Today I get to share a dream turned reality—my very first shoe
I can’t even put into words how PROUD I am of this moment, how THANKFUL I am for the journey, and how GRATEFUL I am for every single person who has supported me along the way. 23 years old…… pic.twitter.com/O2gUgVH9do
Reese's sneaker line with Reebok has been in the making for a while, inking a multiyear endorsement extension in October 2024. In that time, Reese has grown into one of the premier WNBA players, with All-Star selections in each of her first two seasons.
Reese also landed in hot water earlier this month after making controversial remarks to the Chicago Tribune, when she told reporter Julia Poe, "We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me."
The remark was widely seen as a swipe at her current teammates, and the Sky organization suspended Reese for half a game for what it called language "detrimental to the team." She told the media she apologized to her teammates after the remarks were published.
If there was any lingering concern after those remarks, it didn't affect sneaker sales — and Reese quickly posted her appreciation towards her loyal fans.

Reese's second WNBA season saw her post team-highs of 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds per game, although injuries kept her off the court for nearly a third of the season. The Sky finished 10-34, tied with Dallas for the worst record in the WNBA.
Despite recent controversy and team turmoil, Reese has become a marketing force, as shown by how quickly her first signature sneaker line flew off the virtual shelves.
