For the second time in as many weeks, Travis Kelce's late-game miscues have cost the Kansas City Chiefs when it matters the most.
This time, Patrick Mahomes found him for what should've been a go-ahead touchdown. Instead, he juggled the ball, and it fell right into the hands of Philadelphia Eagles safety Andrew Mukuba.
That's why Kelce's not making up any excuses or pointing the finger at anyone else. When asked about the game, the future Hall of Famer had a blunt response to what went wrong.
"Gotta catch the ball," Kelce told his brother Jason on"New Heights." "Gotta catch the ball, and we give ourselves a chance."
Moreover, Kelce didn't want Mahomes to take the blame. Following the loss, the quarterback claimed that his timing was off when he made the pass. Kelce wasn't having any of that.
"The ball was where it needed to be when it needed to be there," Kelce admitted. "I just gotta get my head around out of the break. And I shot you that text telling you that; it's one of those plays where it happens, bang, bang, and I know that's the window that it needs to be in, I know it's coming outta armpits and ear holes of the offense and defensive line getting their arms up, and I just gotta be able to get my head around right now, so I don't put myself in a position to let the ball surprise me like that."

To say that this has been a tough start to the season for Kelce would be a massive understatement. From accidentally injuring Xavier Worthy to making two crucial mistakes in narrow losses, he hasn't been up to his usual standards.
Now, with the Chiefs facing their first three-game losing streak of the Mahomes era, he'll look to bounce back when they visit the New York Giants on Sunday night.
