Brandon Tanev continues streak of hilarious headshots with new NHL team

Picture day for professional athletes can be a dull affair, but not so much for Utah Mammoth left wing Brandon Tanev.

The scrappy fourth-liner for the newly minted Mammoth went hilariously wide-eyed for this year's headshot, likely earning laughs and scares in equal measure.

Brandon Tanev continues quirky picture day tradition

Those who closely follow the NHL know that Tanev's look is not a one-off. Since 2021, the veteran has developed a habit of staring intensely when it's his turn in front of the camera.

In addition to his scary smiles, Tanev will try to provide a veteran presence for the Mammoth during their second season in Utah — and their first with the new moniker.

The 33-year-old appeared in 79 games between the Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets in the 2024-25 campaign, tallying 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points.
