The St. Louis Blues have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with defenseman Cam Fowler, the club announced Saturday evening.

Fowler, 33, collected 40 points (nine goals, 31 assists) in 68 games split between the Blues and Anaheim Ducks during the 2024-25 regular season. He added two goals and 10 points in seven playoff games against the Winnipeg Jets, setting a franchise record for points by a defenseman in a single playoff series in the process.

Acquired from the Ducks early on in the 2024-25 campaign, Fowler found new life upon arriving in St. Louis and collected 36 points in 51 games to finish the season. Already signed through 2025-26 at a $6.5 million cap hit, Fowler’s new contract runs through 2029 and is reportedly worth $6.1 million per season.

The Blues acquired Fowler from the Ducks on December 14, 2024, trading defense prospect Jeremie Biakabutuka and a 2027 second-round pick to Anaheim in exchange for Fowler and a 2027 fourth-round pick.

A first-round selection (No. 12 overall) of the Ducks in the 2010 NHL Draft, Fowler jumped directly from the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires to Anaheim after being drafted and spent parts of 15 seasons in SoCal to begin his NHL career. The 6’2″ lefty played a key role in the Ducks remaining a consistent playoff presence throughout the early 2010s and continued to post strong offensive numbers with the club into his 30s.

Fowler played in his 1,000th NHL game shortly after arriving in St. Louis and ultimately reached the 40-point mark for the fourth time in his career. He averaged 21:42 of ice time over his first 51 games in St. Louis, representing a small increase from his 17 games with the Ducks to start the year but a step down from his career average of 23:08 per game.

In 1,042 career games over 15 seasons split between the Ducks and Blues, Fowler has collected 105 goals and 493 points to go along with 269 penalty minutes and a -110 rating. He’s added eight goals and 43 points in 69 playoff contests.
