Eagles HC addresses question on A.J. Brown's future with team

On Monday, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the situation surrounding A.J. Brown's future with the team. Brown posted a puzzling message on his X account following the Eagles' 31-25 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

After catching just two passes for seven yards in the win, Brown posted a quote from Mark 6:11 in the bible.

During his news conference on Monday, a reporter asked Sirianni about Brown's post and whether the star receiver wants to stay in Philadelphia. Sirianni believes Brown wants to stay with the Eagles.

"Obviously, A.J. is very important to this football team," Sirianni said, via Tim McManus of ESPN. "I know he wants to contribute and do the things he's capable of doing. He wants to contribute into these wins, and he's had a couple games where he hasn't been able to for different reasons.

"I question nothing about his desire to play great football, his desire of being a good teammate, his desire to be here."

A pedestrian Eagles passing attack

Through the first four games of the season, Brown has 14 receptions on 28 targets for 151 yards and one touchdown. The three-time Pro Bowler has recorded 1,000+ yards receiving in five of his first six seasons in the league.

It's not for a lack of targets that Brown's numbers are down. He leads the team in targets, but DeVonta Smith has the most receiving yards (158) on 17 receptions.

The Eagles passing game as a whole was pedestrian in the 4-0 start in September. Quarterback Jalen Hurts only has 609 passing yards, the 25th-most passing yards by a quarterback.
