If Bill Belichick’s North Carolina honeymoon was not over before, it certainly is after Saturday’s game.
The Tar Heels were blown out by the Clemson Tigers 38-10 on Saturday in their ACC opener at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Most of the damage was done in the first half. Clemson had opened up a 28-3 lead before the end of the first quarter and a 35-3 lead at halftime.
Tar Heels fans subsequently decided to vote with their feet. There was a mass exodus from the stadium just before halftime, and most of those that left did not bother returning for the second half.

It is a barren wasteland devoid of UNC fans as Clemson leads 35-3.

By the fourth quarter, pretty much the only people remaining at Kenan Stadium were those who were cheering for the Tigers.

The Tar Heels are now 2-3, but their only two wins came against FCS opposition. In three games against Division I opposition, they have now been outscored 120-33.
Belichick arrived to much hype during the offseason, but he has not come close to living up to expectations. The team appears to be worse than last season’s 6-7 squad, and at this point, rivals are questioning whether their roster was ever good to begin with. There is no indication the school is looking to move on already, but this entire spectacle is getting more embarrassing with each passing week.
