Austin Cindric needed a perfect day at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval to advance to the Round of 8 in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Instead, he's been on the receiving end of a miserable race.
Cindric entered the Bank of America Roval 400 in need of a victory to advance to the penultimate round of the postseason. After starting 19th, Cindric struggled to find speed early in the race. His struggles were exacerbated after he missed the backstretch chicane and incurred a stop-and-go penalty.

A few laps later, Cindric found himself on the receiving end of contact from Justin Haley, which sent Cindric spinning in the infield portion of the racetrack.

Early in Stage 2, another Spire Motorsports driver made contact with Cindric. Carson Hocevar hit Cindric going into the frontstretch chicane, which led to Cindric's No. 2 Team Penske Ford sustaining significant damage.

Per Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass, two control arms on Cindric's vehicle were bent. Following the contact with Hocevar, suspension damage was obvious on Cindric's car as he limped to pit road. The damage forced Cindric behind the wall for repairs, effectively ending his chances of winning Sunday's race and advancing in the Cup Series playoffs.
