There's no better time to make franchise history than on a national stage, and Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd did just that on "Monday Night Football."
Late in the third quarter, the Kansas City Chiefs were driving and knocking on the door of the end zone to take the lead and break a 14-14 tie. A pass to Marquise "Hollywood" Brown set the Chiefs up near the goal line but then, in one moment, Lloyd flipped the momentum, and the game, on its head with a play that ignited the Jacksonville crowd even before they realized they were about to witness history.
Lloyd picked off Chiefs quarterback and two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, but what happened next will be talked about for a long time in northern Florida.
Lloyd ran the interception all the way to the house for a defensive touchdown. By completing the play for a 99-yard pick-six, Lloyd now owns the record for the longest pick-six in franchise history.

If any Jaguars defender was going to pick off Mahomes, the smart money was on Lloyd entering the game. Jacksonville's first round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft has been on an early tear. He now has three interceptions in his last two games after grabbing a pair in a 26-21 win against the San Francisco 49ers.
Overall, Lloyd has four picks on the year. In four seasons with the Jaguars, Lloyd has forced or ended up with 14 total turnovers — he has eight picks, five fumble recoveries and one forced fumble so far in his young career.
