Cleveland Guardians fans are still fuming after how their season ended, and they are taking out some of that frustration on owner Paul Dolan.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer ran a full-page ad on Wednesday criticizing Dolan for “wasting” the career of star third baseman Jose Ramirez. The ad argued that both Ramirez and the fans deserve better, and urged Dolan to either “commit to winning or sell the team.”

Dolan has never been popular among Cleveland fans. The team is regarded for its limited spending, and he infamously warned fans to enjoy stars like Francisco Lindor while they had the chance. It was a genuine surprise when the Guardians actually re-signed Ramirez to a long-term deal, though he took a very team-friendly contract to stay.
The Cleveland franchise has been owned by the Dolan family since 2000. Public opinion is unlikely to change anything in terms of how Paul runs the franchise, a trait that also applies to his cousin’s NBA ownership.
