'That was unusual': Jets HC Aaron Glenn's game management questioned following loss to Broncos

The Denver Broncos gutted out an ugly 13-11 win against the New York Jets in London on Sunday. With just one touchdown scored in the entire game, there weren't many highlights, but there was plenty of bad football.

However, the questionable choices weren't exclusively made by the players. The coaches didn't have their best games, either. Broncos head coach Sean Payton's offensive playcalling and execution weren't spectacular, as the team recorded just 246 yards of total offense and only 16 points. Still, it wasn't as bad as the Jets, who had just 82 yards of total offense and minus-10 passing yards.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn also had a strange sequence to end the first half. With the clock winding down, the Jets had the ball at midfield and were in position to get one more play off before heading back into the locker room. Trailing by four points, it seemed like the time to try a Hail Mary and take a shot at the endzone. Instead, the Jets players looked to the sideline in confusion as no play call came in and the clock wound down to zero.

"We were waiting for a Hail Mary or something, and then the clock ran out," Payton said in a postgame press conference. "That was surprising. That was unusual."

New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson was 'disappointed' with game management

Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson must've had the same feelings as Payton. As the half ended, cameras caught Wilson apparently arguing with Glenn about why the offense didn't run a play before time expired. After the game, Wilson elaborated on his reaction about not trying to get one more play off.

"I just didn't know exactly what the plan was," Wilson explained. "Once I figured it out, I was disappointed. I'll just say that."

Disappointment is the operative word for Wilson and the Jets. A winless record through six weeks has turned the pressure up on Glenn in his first year as a head coach. While no one expected the Jets to be anything but awful, Glenn risks losing the locker room if his players don't believe he's doing everything he can to win.
