The Boston Celtics’ coaching staff had a preseason game against the media on Tuesday, and it did not go well for the assembled reporters.
Celtics writer Taylor Snow shared a video on X Tuesday that showed a clip from the game. In the clip, a Celtics coach threw up a three-pointer from well beyond the arc at the buzzer. The shot swished in to make the final score 57-4 in favor of the coaches.

That is a very one-sided result.
According to Snow, Bobby Krivitsky and Khari A. Thompson scored the two buckets for the media team. Of course, it doesn’t help the media that the Celtics’ coaching staff has former NBA players on it, like Phil Pressey and DaSean Butler. Maybe we should just be impressed that the final score wasn’t a shutout.
The fact that there was a game between the reporters and coaches was a stunner. According to Noa Dalzell, the game was supposed to be a pickup contest between reporters. But Mazzulla surprised everyone by saying the media would be facing the coaches.
We were supposed to have a media pickup game at the Celtics practice facility today, but we just got some news from Joe Mazzulla:

Maybe Mazzulla wanted to get the upper hand on the media as some sort of tactic ahead of the season. Maybe he figures they won’t ask such tough questions after being beaten badly.
