New York Jets running back Breece Hall has been the subject of trade rumors heading into the Nov. 4 deadline, and it looks like he might be hoping for a change.

Hall, a second-round draft pick in 2022, is in the final season of his rookie contract. With the Jets 0-6 and looking like one of the worst teams in the NFL, there has been talk that they might explore the potential return for Hall on the trade market.

On Monday, Hall had an Instagram post that included “#Free20” in the caption. Many interpreted that to mean he wants the Jets to free him by trading him.

Hall was asked by a reporter on Monday if he could explain what the caption meant. He responded “maybe one of these days.”

Hall said last week that he loves playing for the Jets and does not want to leave. Head coach Aaron Glenn has also dismissed the trade talk as merely “rumors.”

There is almost no chance the Jets are going to turn their season around after a 0-6 start, so it would not be a surprise if they were open to trading Hall. Any move would, of course, depend on the return. They are not going to give a key player away, and insisting they plan to keep Hall is the only way to maintain any leverage.
