Boise State HC Spencer Danielson calls out fans following latest win

Boise State came from behind to beat New Mexico last week, but many Broncos fans did not stick around to see the comeback at Albertsons Stadium. Head coach Spencer Danielson is hoping that will not happen again going forward.

On Monday, Boise State athletic director Jeramiah Dickey took to social media to urge fans to be at their best for Saturday night's game against UNLV, which is the 12th consecutive home game that the Broncos have sold out. Dickey called Boise State's home field "a fortress" and said the environment is something "no opponent wants to face" when at its best.

Dickey also encouraged fans to stay for the entirety of the game, which was likely a reference to the exodus that took place during last week's 41-25 win over New Mexico.

Dickey wasn't the only one to address the fans. Head coach Spencer Danielson had something to say as well.

Spencer Danielson pleads with Boise State fans

Boise State trailed 14-7 at halftime in their game against New Mexico last week. With wet weather in the area, many fans decided to head for the exits rather than sticking around to see the final result.

Danielson spoke about that on Wednesday. He said Boise State fans are the best in the country but that it is "hard" to look up at empty stands early on in a game.

"Bronco Nation, I believe without question we have the best fan base in the country, but it's hard coming out at half when you look up and you see a lot of the fans gone," Danielson said, via KBOI-TV CBS 2. "That's hard. That's hard for our team."

Boise State outscored New Mexico 21-8 in the fourth quarter to complete the thrilling comeback.

Boise State is looking to keep a streak alive

Boise State is currently tied with Alabama for the longest active win streak at home at 15 consecutive games. The Broncos host UNLV on Saturday, while No. 6 Alabama has a tough test at home against No. 11 Tennessee. Both teams will be looking to keep their impressive streaks intact.

Fans might be a bit disappointed with Boise State after the team entered the season ranked in the top 25 nationally but lost to South Florida in Week 1. The Broncos' only loss since has been to Notre Dame, so they still have a chance to have a solid year. Danielson and Dickey are hoping the fans will do everything they can to help the team remain undefeated in the Mountain West Conference.
