Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer had a legendary quote about CeeDee Lamb’s return to the team.
Lamb has missed the last three weeks due to a high-ankle sprain. He was a limited participant in the Cowboys’ practice on Wednesday due to his ankle, signaling he is on his way to playing in games again. Dallas hosts Washington in Week 7 on Sunday, and reporters were wondering whether the Cowboys would have Lamb play this weekend. Schottenheimer had a clear message.
Schottenheimer was asked what he needs to see from Lamb to feel confident playing the wide receiver in a game.
“If he’s breathing, I’m good,” Schottenheimer bluntly stated.
You think he’s eager to get his top receiver back?
Lamb has 16 catches for 222 yards on 24 targets in three games this season. George Pickens leads the team with 32 catches for 525 yards and 6 touchdowns, while tight end Jake Ferguson has a team-high 44 catches. Lamb is a big playmaker, and having him as part of the offense will give the Cowboys a valuable option.
Here is a look at the play where Lamb suffered his ankle injury in the Cowboys’ Week 3 loss to the Bears.

Most do cause missed time but his ability to walk on it right away suggests lower severity

Lamb was initially said to have been out for two weeks and day-to-day after that. He ended up missing three games, and Schottenheimer is happy to have him back.
