The NFL world is mourning the loss of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders running back Doug Martin. According to TMZ, Martin tragically died recently at just 36 years old.
Martin was drafted in the first round by the Buccaneers in 2012 and made his biggest impact that season. As a rookie, he rushed for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns, good enough to be selected to the Pro Bowl.
His stellar 2015 season earned him a second Pro Bowl nod as well as a first-team All-Pro nod. He was with Tampa Bay through the 2017 season before spending one season with the Oakland Raiders.
He rushed for 723 yards and four touchdowns with Oakland before retiring at 29 years old after just seven seasons in the NFL.

Martin will be most remembered for his 25-carry, 251-rushing-yard, four-touchdown performance in his rookie season against his future Raiders team.
Martin's unfortunate passing at just 36 is way too soon, and the NFL world will undoubtedly mourn his death for the remainder of the season.
It would be no surprise at all to see the Buccaneers hold some pregame ceremony honoring Martin before their next home game in Week 10.
