Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb made a welcome return for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Entering Dallas' home game against the Washington Commanders, Lamb had missed three games because of an ankle injury. It didn't appear to be bothering him on a big play late in the first quarter.
On a 1st-and-10 at Dallas' 26-yard line, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott faked to running back Javonte Williams on a play-action pass. He quickly found an open Lamb over the middle, who turned the deep heave into a 74-yard touchdown.
According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Lamb surpassed 7,000 scrimmage yards for his career on the play. Entering Sunday's game, the 2020 first-round pick out of Oklahoma had 6,949 yards (6,561 receiving, 388 rushing).

Surprisingly, the Cowboys' offense didn't suffer without Lamb due in part due to George Pickens playing like a No. 1 WR. During this stretch, he had 19 receptions for 359 yards and four TD catches (via StatMuse).
Over the past three weeks, the Cowboys have scored 104 points (34.6 points per game). With Lamb now healthy, the unit should be even more explosive.
Lamb is coming off a productive 2024. Last season, he had 101 receptions for 1,194 yards and six touchdown catches. Before suffering his injury in a Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears, the WR had 16 receptions for 222 yards. The long TD against Washington shows the four-time Pro Bowler should continue to churn out big numbers this season.
With a receiving corps that features Pickens and Lamb, Prescott could be in for one of the most prolific years of his career. Through his first six starts, the QB completed 71.6 percent of his passes for 1,617 yards, 13 TDs and three interceptions.
Now, if only the Cowboys could stop anybody. Through six weeks, Dallas allowed the second-most points (30.7) in the league. With that in mind, Lamb better have more game-changing TDs in store.
