Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson is hoping his team makes at least one move ahead of the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline, and he wants that move to involve him.
Wilson has requested a trade from the Bengals, according to a Thursday report from ESPN's Ben Baby. The former third-round pick is said to be unhappy with his lack of playing time.
Wilson, a team captain who is in his sixth season with the Bengals, has started all seven games in 2025. He has two years remaining on a four-year, $36M contract he signed two offseasons ago.
As Baby notes, Wilson played 47.5% of Cincinnati's defensive snaps in the team's 33-31 Week 7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last Thursday. That was actually an increase in playing time after he was on the field for only 19.7% of the defensive snaps in a 27-18 Week 6 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has shifted toward developing rookie linebackers Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight Jr., which is an approach that has resulted in few opportunities for the 29-year-old Wilson.
Wilson has 41 total tackles (17 solo) and a fumble recovery on the season. He had 100 or more total tackles in each of the last four seasons. Wilson has made 75 starts across five-plus seasons with Cincinnati and has 11 interceptions, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
It is unclear if there will be a market for Wilson or whether the Bengals are willing to trade him.
