Head coach Mario Cristobal is building something very exciting on the 2026 recruiting trail for the Miami Hurricanes.
His latest addition comes at the expense of Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers.
Keshawn Stancil is a four-star defensive lineman from Clayton, North Carolina. He had been committed to Swinney and the Tigers since June 28, but on Wednesday, it was announced that he flipped his commitment from Clemson to Miami.
Stancil visited Coral Gables for a game last season and took an official visit to Miami over the summer. He still ended up committing to Clemson, but the Hurricanes clearly never gave up on his recruitment.
“When I first went down there, it felt like home,” Stancil said of his visits to Miami, according to Steve Wiltfong of Rivals. “Clemson always felt like home for me so it was a hard decision.”
One has to wonder if Clemson's tough 2025 season played into Stancil's decision. The Tigers are currently 3-4 on the season. Keep in mind, in the meantime, Miami is 6-1 and ranked No. 10 in the nation.

The vibes at Miami also drew Stancil in, though.
“Great coaches, great culture, great lifestyle too,” Stancil said. “You can do things beyond football at Miami. If you want to become an entrepreneur, you can do that and a million other things beyond being a football player. The student life is great.”
Checking in at 6-foot-3, 270 pounds, Stancil is ranked as the No. 23 defensive lineman in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
He goes down as Miami's 25th commitment in a class that's ranked No. 12 in the nation.
So far during his senior season at Clayton High School, Stancil has notched 56 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, four sacks and two forced fumbles.
