NFL insider has big prediction for Packers at trade deadline

As the NFL trade deadline approaches, there are several ways the Green Bay Packers could go, with a roster that’s leading the NFC North and sights set on a legitimate run at the Super Bowl.

Whether Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst aims to be a buyer, and potentially upgrade at cornerback or shop for offensive line depth, Green Bay has the assets to be aggressive.

Likewise, there is some depth at receiver, given tight end Tucker Kraft’s breakout, first-round rookie Matthew Golden picking up steam, Christian Watson’s emergence and a quality pass rush rotation could put Green Bay in a position to sell off some assets in favor of adding draft capital to keep building out a championship-caliber roster.

Packers might be quiet at the trade deadline

With the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline rapidly nearing, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler suggests that Green Bay might not make any bombastic moves.

“Standing pat wouldn’t surprise me,” Fowler writes for ESPN. “The Packers rarely trade players at the deadline, and they already made their splash move with the Micah Parsons trade. But they will have chances to trade for future assets. Green Bay has coveted receiver depth, and pass rusher Kingsley Enagbare is the odd man out at his position.”

How Gutekunst and Green Bay leverage the depth pieces across the roster could determine not just Green Bay’s ceiling in 2025 but also what the roster could look like in the seasons ahead.
