Ravens receive good Lamar Jackson news before 'TNF' matchup against Dolphins

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is set to make his return to the starting lineup.

On Wednesday, NFL Media insider Tom Pelissero reported Jackson is no longer listed on the injury report and slated to start against the Miami Dolphins on "Thursday Night Football." The QB hasn't played since a 37-20 Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs because of a hamstring injury.

How Lamar Jackson's return benefits Ravens

Jackson's return comes at an excellent time for the 2-5 Ravens, who have been reeling without the two-time MVP. Baltimore has lost two of its past three games with Jackson sidelined and has averaged just 14.3 points per game after logging 32.8 PPG when the QB was healthy.

The Ravens are coming off a 30-16 Week 8 win over the Chicago Bears. They could use the momentum from that victory to spur a needed second-half surge.

"Coach [John Harbaugh] touched on that with us in the team meeting: Each and every game is going to be like a win-or-go-home game," Jackson told the media Tuesday. "It's do-or-die right now every week."

Dropping another game would be costly for the Ravens. As of Wednesday, ESPN's Football Power Index gives them a 46.7 percent chance to make the playoffs.

Baltimore will improve its postseason chances by taking advantage of a favorable matchup in Miami on Thursday night. The Dolphins (2-6) have lost three of their last four games.

Jackson — who said he isn't battling any rust from his hamstring injury — should exploit Miami's 28th-ranked run defense (145 YPG). In four games this season, the QB has rushed for 166 yards and one TD on 21 carries.

"Extremely excited," Jackson said when asked how he feels about returning. "Can't wait to touch the grass with my guys. It's been a while."

Ravens fans will also be pumped to see Jackson return. The 28-year-old QB may save the season, starting with a dominant performance against the Dolphins.
