Texans expected to get back major offensive help for Broncos clash

The Houston Texans are 3-4 and coming off a 26-15 win over the San Francisco 49ers. They've had an up-and-down 2025 campaign, but they'll have a chance to win two in a row and four out of their last five by beating the Denver Broncos this weekend.

That's, of course, going to be easier said than done. Denver is 6-2 and boasts a top-10 offense in points per game (25.9) and a top-five defense in points allowed per game (18.9) The Broncos are also riding a five-game winning streak, so they're going to be a tough out.

Help is on the way for the Houston Texans

Houston is going to need all the help it can get, but there is good news in that regard.

Fifth-year wideout Nico Collins will be returning from the concussion protocol after missing last week's game. He suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of the Texans' loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 20, but he has officially been cleared to return.

"Blessed to be off the protocol," Collins said, according to DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN. "Feeling good, feeling excited about this week's great matchup."

The Texans are also expected to get wideout Christian Kirk back from a hamstring injury that cost him the past two games and four games total this season.

Both players have now practiced two games in a row, so things are looking good as it relates to their respective returns to the offense.

Houston Texans will welcome return of Christian Kirk and Nico Collins

The Texans offense has been middle-of-the-pack this season, averaging 328.7 yards per game and 21.9 points per game, so you can bet quarterback C.J. Stroud will be happy to have two of his top receivers back.

Last week against the 49ers, Stroud had one of his best games of the season. He completed 30-of-39 passes for 318 yards and two touchdowns compared to one interception. His leading receiver was third-year wideout Xavier Hutchinson, who has stepped up with five catches for 69 yards and a touchdown, but nobody will mistake him for a WR1 in the NFL.

In six games this season, Collins has caught 26 passes for 339 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 13 yards per catch. Kirk has played in just three games this season, and he's caught 10 catches for 109 yards without a touchdown.
