Bruins' Jordan Harris out long-term after undergoing ankle surgery

“On October 21, Jordan Harris sustained a right ankle fracture during the team’s game against the Florida Panthers,” the team said in a statement. “On October 27, he underwent a successful open reduction and internal fixation procedure performed by Dr. George Theodore at Mass General Brigham. His expected recovery time is approximately two months.”

Harris has one goal and one assist for two points, averaging 15:38 of ice time in five regular-season games through the 2025-26 season.

Harris joined the Bruins after signing a one-year, $825,000 contract last summer. The 25-year-old defender spent 2024-25 with the Columbus Blue Jackets, recording one goal and four assists for five points while averaging 11:23 of ice time in 33 regular-season games. He was acquired by the Blue Jackets in the Patrik Laine trade with the Montreal Canadiens in August 2024.

He spent the first three years of his NHL career with the Canadiens, the team that drafted him in the third round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, where in 131 regular-season games he scored eight goals and recorded 24 assists for 32 points, averaging 17:58 of ice time.

Before turning professional, Harris spent four seasons playing in the NCAA with Northeastern University. Through 130 career games, Harris recorded 15 goals and 58 assists for 73 points.

The Bruins are 5-7-0 through their first 12 games of the 2025-26 regular season. Their next game is Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres, followed by a home against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.
