The Baltimore Ravens are back in the driver's seat to control their destiny, winning two straight and getting back in the race for the AFC North.
Bolstering their defense at the trade deadline by acquiring linebacker Dre’Mont Jones from the Tennessee Titans, the Ravens keep receiving praise for the move, including from former NFL head coach Bruce Arians, who said Jones is someone who “can really get after the quarterback.”
"This guy can rush the passer, and they'll be able to use Kyle Van Noy in different ways," Arians said on his appearance on ESPN's "The Pat McAfee Show." "[Jones] can play multiple spots, and you get him on the edge, maybe Kyle rushing on the weakest link on the offensive line. I think they'll do a hell of a job with him, and he's going to be a big upgrade for them."
Through nine games with the Titans, Jones recorded 26 total tackles, 13 solo tackles, and 4.5 sacks. Jones is now the Ravens' team leader in sacks by 2.5, with defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike (2.0) and linebacker Tavius Robinson (2.0) previously holding that mantle.

The Ravens' defense allowed 35 or more points in four games during the first half of the season, including Week 1, when the Buffalo Bills scored 41 points, and Week 5, when the Houston Texans scored 44 points. Stabilizing things, the Ravens have allowed an average of 13 points over the last three games.
Jones will fit in well with the Ravens and defensive coordinator Zachary Orr, who run a 3-4 scheme on defense, as the Titans ran the same system.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson, along with running back Derrick Henry, drive the Ravens' offense. Henry has 629 yards on 128 carries and six touchdowns, while Jackson, despite his three-game absence due to a hamstring injury, has thrown for 1,073 yards with 14 touchdowns and one interception.
The Ravens are the 20th-best offense (318.5 yards) in the league but the sixth-best when running the ball (135.5 yards).
Sitting behind the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3) in the division, the Ravens can overtake them, with two head-to-head meetings (Week 14 & Week 18) still between them. The Ravens are trying to become the fifth team since the 1970 merger to make the playoffs after starting the season 1-5.
