The Seattle Seahawks are starting to separate themselves as one of the best teams in the NFC. Their offense has been a big part of the story this season, but their defense has been just as dominant at times.
That continued on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals when defensive lineman DeMarcus Lawrence had an extremely rare day. He not only contributed to the defensive performance in keeping Arizona off the board, but he also gave Seattle 12 points in a 44-22 win.
Lawrence was a one-man game-changer for the Seahawks on Sunday, not only causing havoc with the pass-rush, but also scoring two touchdowns on fumble returns.
His first touchdown came in the first quarter when he recovered a Jacoby Brissett fumble and raced 34-yards to give Seattle an early 14-0 lead.

He did not stop there. With Seattle leading 21-0 in the second quarter, he returned a fumble 34 yards for a touchdown on a nearly identical play.

With those two touchdowns, Lawrence becomes just the fourth player in NFL history to return two fumbles for touchdowns in the same game, joining a list that includes Jeremy Chinn, Fred Evans and Al Nesser. Evans and Nesser accomplished their feats prior to 1950. Chinn's two touchdown game was during the 2020 season.
Along with his two touchdowns, Lawrence also had four tackles, half a sack, a tackle for loss, three quarterback hits and two passes defended.
