The New England Patriots continued their hot streak with an impressive 28-23 win at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Quarterback Drake Maye (16-of-31, 270 yards, two TDs, one interception) was not his best from an efficiency standpoint, but the emergence of rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson was a huge positive for New England.
With Rhamondre Stevenson's tendency to fumble and mediocre season up to this point, many expected Henderson, the second-round pick out of Ohio State, to deliver bigger results.
That finally came on Sunday as Stevenson sat out for a second consecutive game with a toe injury. The rookie had 14 carries for 147 yards and two TDs, including this 69-yard score to break the game open with just 1:31 remaining.

That was Henderson's second TD run to go for more than 50 yards, with the other topping out at 55. According to ESPN's Jeff Darlington, Henderson is the first Patriots RB to score two TDs over 50 yards in team history.

Prior to Sunday, Henderson only had one TD and had not rushed for more than 75 yards all season. His 14 carries equaled his previous high from Week 9 and his 147 yards were a personal-best.
Until Stevenson's toe injury, Henderson's playing time had been limited due to his unimpressive play so far. Tampa Bay has the eighth-best run defense (92.6 YPG), so for Henderson's best performance to come against it is even more impressive.
Whether Henderson earns more playing time or not remains to be seen, but after putting together the best game of his young NFL career so far, he certainly helped his case against the Buccaneers.
