Warriors may have finally given up on Jonathan Kuminga

It doesn't seem like much of a coincidence to see that right after Butler and Green talked about making sacrifices, personal agendas and players being traded, Kerr chose to demote Kuminga back to the second unit.

Kerr has always kept the talented forward on a short leash. After watching Kuminga barely put effort into the defensive end of the floor, the HC opted to replace him with rookie Will Richard, the No. 56 pick in this year's draft.

The Warriors ruled Kuminga out of their comeback 125-120 win over the San Antonio Spurs with knee soreness after just 12 minutes. He only took one shot — and missed it — during the game.

Kuminga's demeanor has been a talking point way too many times since the Warriors took him No. 7 in the 2021 NBA Draft. The timing of that injury seems odd, to say the least. It was the type of injury that teams usually catch before the game, not after one quarter of play.

He won't be eligible to be traded until Jan. 15. With all the trouble he seems to be creating for them, the Warriors might not even ask for much in return at this point.
